This is obsolete stuff shifted here from the DOT
website
in 2008 when Utrecht University stopped
its funding of this project (my mandatory retirement was in 2007). It
described the various plans that we had for the telescope and the
science we planned to make feasible. The argument for ending the DOT
funding was that Utrecht University stood apart in uniquely doing
solar physics in The Netherlands. The closure of
all Utrecht astronomy
four years later used the
opposite argument that Utrecht University should not do what other
Dutch universities do also.
