About MPE/NL
In 2013, more than 120 mathematics institutes world wide lended support to Mathematics of Planet Earth, an international initiative under the flag of UNESCO. The goal of MPE2013 was to raise awareness for mathematics research to help address such challenges such as climate change, sustainability, natural disasters, ecology, biodiversity, and epidemiology. With MPE/NL we hope to establish a network to stimulate and facilitate collaboration between mathematicians and earth scientists in the Netherlands, by organizing lectures, workshops and summer schools, and maintaining a mailing list with announcements for the multidisciplinary community.
At the November 2018 MPE Symposium, Judith Lengkeek interviewed participants for her podcast De Fascinatievolger. You can listen to the program (in Dutch) here.
