Ghost In Paradise is the follow up to melodic metal band mYON's 1999 debut Heaven's Garden. It is a collection of ten fast enough tracks, with rhythms at times reminiscent of power metal. Often enough they remind me of the Helloween of the mid eighties (in songs like Tournament and Follow The Sign), although the vocals are a little less high. At other times there are hints of the AOR-ish stuff Magnum did in the same era (Ancient Rites). The songs are put together adequately, creating an impression of professionalism without ever enticing me. Ghost In Paradise is an album of melodic metal that is okay, although attention does tend to fade too often for comfort. It also seems to be more about times past, then about now, and with that far from essential.
