by Gerard L.G. Sleijpen and Henk A. van der Vorst, as one of the two most outstanding papers in applicable linear algebra published during 1993-1996 and has awarded us with the SIAM Activity Group on Linear Algebra (SIAG/LA) Prize. See also SIAM NEWS, March, 1998.
