Op zoek naar een goede referentie om de aanname in mijn nieuwe artikel betreffende de stabiliteit van syntaxis te staven, heb ik het artikel The stability of language elements in present-day eastern Standard-Dutch and eastern Dutch dialects door Cor van Bree gelezen. Het is een bijdrage in de tweetalige bundel Dialect and Standard language | Dialekt und Standardsprache | in the English, Dutch, German and Norwegian Language Areas.
Belangrijkste zin: "Syntactic elements (constructions and word order rules) are characterized by a high degree of abstraction. [...] The degree of consiousness is low and therefore the degree of stability high."
