The Design
The frequency range of the set is 6 to 9 MHz, and RF output power is about 300mW, giving a field range of several miles. The two 1299A tubes are the output for RF. If you are not certain of having the correct frequency, you use this frequency meter, three times heavier alone than the complete tranceiver. A lot of information about military equipment is found on Louis Meulstee's site Wireless for the Warrios. This picture (copied from Louis's site) shows the set as is would be in use: the enclosing case would house the batteries and protect the set agains battle field conditions. Batteries of 90 and 180V aren't easy to find or affordable nowadays, but somebody has tried o fix a power supply for the set, which I also have.

This Object
I do have the tubes and the set looks more or less complete (barring the cabinet). But what am I supposed to do with it? I don't think I should try to repair it and use it as a transmitter, because the stability and modulation are not at par to current standards. Moreover, I don't have a ham license.
