The reception and sound quality of these small radios is often not very good. Good quality was claimed in an advertisement (of course…) but a test of the Consumer Union in 1975 gave poor results. There can be a big difference between the official and the real prices. This Emperor has a catalogue price of 48.50, but he Union bought it for 19.95.
