The Design

The dial proudly mentions `Plan de Copenhague' to indicate that it was made according to the bandplan agreed upon in Copenhagen in 1948. The plan became effective in 1950. The changes in bandplan in Europe may sometimes allow you to infer the age of a radio by information printed on the dial, but is usually not more informative than design characteristics and tubes used. Due to the distinguising little brass crown in the middle, my wife will never allow me to sell the radio.
ChassisPictureThe radio uses Rimlock tubes, which were used only during a short period of time. Fridor was an independent radio manufacturer, but did not design this set itself: it was a Philips design. The chassis is almost identical to that of the Philips BX321.

This Object

When I got the radio it didn't have the back, the wood was damaged, and the dial string was broken. The radio still has a replica back made from another radio. It functions very well.
