The Design

Unlike most radios produced after 1955, this Grundig does not have the ECC85 type FM tuner. Instead, an EC92 is in the tuner. Also quite peculiar is the AM mixer, which is not built on the common ECH81 (a triode with multiplicative hexode mixer), but on the EF89 (a self-oscillating additive pethode mixer).

This Object

The radio comes from a charity fair and was priced very attractively. It arrived with some minor defects but the routine treatment repaired it all.
