It does not appear to be very sensitive on AM, at least on Long Wave I hear nothing. With digital operation, tuning can be very precise, but it takes some time because there is no direct frequency entry. So you may choose between a limited number of preferred stations (from memory) quite smoothly, but just tuning the bands for DX-ing takes some time.
The channel spacing (grid) is 9kHz on LW and MW, and 5kHz on SW. Besides the standard broadcast FM (88-108MHz), the unit receives Band III and Band II Television sounds.
