Unknown Hearing Aid

Transistorized hearing aid.

Data for Unknown
Production??, 1960.
CabinetMetal. Size 46x68x20mm. Weight 50 gr (ex batt).
PowerBatt 2xAA @ 10mA.

The Design

The dating is a bit of a guess, but as the size compares to the Siemens Ultra, I guess it is of the same epoch. The cabinet space is filled for more than half with the two penlight batteries, while the transistorized amplifier takes the rest. The aid draws about 10mA from the batteries, so they should power it for a couple of hundred hours.

The unit has a microphone and a coil for linking to an Audio Induction Loop.

This Object

The set works very well, though the headset cable has an intermittent interruption. This should be replaceable because it has a connector on both sides. It was found in a dump of old medical equipment, unfortunately without any identification, box, or batteries.
