The Design

It is hard to date this radio, because sets like these were produced for many decades. RadioMuseum.org places this one near 1990, but I believe it is more recent. First, because the box lists "Der Grüne Punkt" and has a bar code, which indicates a more modern design to me. Second, the box also lists a telescopic antenna under features, and I think such an error is made only in a factory that produces similarly shaped FM sets as well. Third, the box has a price tag of 2€, and I believe this could actually have been the price when new.

The tuning scales of these cheap sets are always a little non-linear, but this one takes uneven channel distribution to the limit. Observe the space taken by the lower half, 530-1000kHz (53 stations) compared to that taken by the upper half, 1000-1600kHz (66 stations) of the MW band.
