The Design

An audio amplifier with a push-pull output of 807 tubes could become quite powerfull, as in delivering an output power of 50W or so. This amplifier was set up with quite a few switches and controls.

The chassis was a bit underdesigned, as it wiggles too much. The design would nowadays be considered unsafe, because the power switch also controls AC mains power being brought out to jacks on the back, probably with the intention to switch a pickup or tape unit in the same movement. Also, the B+ and heater voltage was lead to the back, so perhaps the unit could be part of a setup including a tuner as well.

This Object

With two of the tubes broken and one missing, I don't think this will make a nice repair job. But perhaps there are usable parts in it, like the big transformers and the jacks (sometimes broken in radios). I scrapped it to refill my potmeter box, electrolytic storage, and transformer crate.
