The Design

The back has an inscription Made in Japan 405. Now there is only one Japan as far as I know, and this means: month 05 in a year ending in 4. The inside is modern enough to conclude that it is from 1974, not 1964.

Visible on the inside is the back of the band switch with its many wires. You can also see the mica tuning capacitor, sixties style. Remarkable is that the chassis has two separate PCBs, one of them mounted with the connections visible. The radio has a jack for a car antenna. It is not a good idea to connect a longwire to it, as the radio will heavily cross-modulate when you do this. It appears to be made to be quite sensible, and can take small antenna signals only.

This Object

The set needed some cleaning. I treated the cracking volume pot with gasoline.
