The Design

The Henriette radio's, generally referred to as "L4X-series", was a line of Philips portables that was produced from around 1959 (the L4X95T) to 1965 (the Erres RS1596). This L4X26T is very similar to the L4X25T of the same year, but uses different transistors and has a black cabinet.

Sound samplePLAY SOUND   With a loud portable, you can dance in the streets, and this Henriette even has an entry for connecting a record player.

This Object

This radio is in good external condition. It plays, but the germanium transistors tend to become rather noisy after sixty years. But overall, the sound is quite good, especially on Short Wave (there are almost no stations on OC3, Tropical Bands).
