The Design

Would you ever believe that it takes 15 tubes to measure voltages reliably? Let me explain.

This measurement instrument is built in several units. The power supply has EZ80 rectifier and is regulated by a PCL82, controlled by two 85A2 neon voltage stabilizers in series. Some extra reference voltage is obtained through an EAA91. The input signal is amplified by a four stage amplifier (E80F + 3x EF86) and directed by a bridge of four OA202 diodes. To convert the input to AC (this is neccesary because the amplifier is AC coupled) a vibrator is used, driven by an oscillator (2x EF86). Positive or negative signal is indicated by DM70 tuning indicators, and at two places there is an overload protection by Z8 neon bulbs. You see that nothing was left to coincidence.

No matter how nice the machine is, I have no use for it.
