The Design

This little unit is a service oscillator, used by repairmen to service radio and TV sets in homes or small workshops. It is small and easily ported, yet offers a lot of functionality: RF signals from 300kHz to 100MHz, AF signals from 20Hz to 20kHz, and modulated signals (depth is controllable).

The frequency range starts at 300kHz because in the United States the LW band is not used.

This Object

The set comes from America but already was fitted with a 230V transformer when I got it. I used it for various purposes: aligning and testing radios mainly, but it can also be used as an external BFO to overhear SSB communications on an ordinary radio. The AF signals can be used in my RC-meter.
