This Object

This radio was in a terrible state when I got it. It almost fell apart (and still does), was very dirty and the dial and tuning knob missed. But surprisingly it played, and did so very well!

The only thing was you had to push the on/off button all the time, because it no longer locked in the ON position as it had done forty years earlier. Some previous owner had worked out a splendid mod around this: a small piece of wood that would fit between the knob and the carrying handle and would keep the knob in position and the radio on. For the dial I scanned the dial of the Philips L3X91T junker and printed a negative and slightly enlarged image. I know it isn't original but hey, what else can one do?
