The Design

This radio was also sold under the Vega brand and an almost similar set was the Euromatic 217.

The Selena has a power switch in front that operates in the AC circuit, so it does not suffer from vampire current when switched off appropriately. The inside picture shows the carroussel tuner in the top, where the rotating band switch contains all band-specific coils and capacitors. Taking that into account, I think the PCB below contains quite a lot of coils still, but tests show that the radio is a single conversion superhet.

Sound samplePLAY SOUND   China and the Truth. Like half a century ago, Russian language programs can be heard in the 31m band, but in 2024 they come from China.
