The Design

The standard model ICF-400 has Long Wave and MW and FM, but this version 400S has Short instead of Long wave; I presume this variant to be from the same year (as mentioned by RMorg).

Because Long Wave was still a relevant broadcast band all over Europe in the eighties, this model was probably mainly sold outside Europe. With a band of 12MHz long on such a tiny dial, tuning is rather hard, of course.

The box, which I don't have, states the country of origin, but Malaysia is also printed on the type label on the back.

Condition	7; complete and working, some scratches.
Disposed	Sold 6/2022.

This Object

The radio came here quite dirty and with nonfunctional MW. I cleansed the cabinet and fixed the band switch, now it looks passable and functions on all three bands.
