Probably the most innovating rock combo to grace the Earth. The leader Robert Fripp would probably not like King Crimson being called "progressive" (read the interview), but live just isn't fair. The band continues to renew itself and at the moment many a band acknowledges a debt to this band, which, I have to admit, is also thoroughly liked by adventurous music lovers outside progressive and also actively disliked by people who consider themselves to be fans of progressive rock. Maybe that is what Fripp means.
