The Customer Configuration Updating Survey research team (here after: "CCU (Survey) team") is committed to respecting the privacy of those who visit our website. Our commitment to your privacy rights is shown in the principles and policies adopted by the CCU team in this statement. www.ccubenchmark.com is not a commercial company but acts as a convenient vehicle for the research to administer the survey. The CCU team wants to provide a safe, secure user experience and will expend every effort to protect the privacy of the survey participants. We will use our best efforts to ensure that the information you submit remains private, and is used only for the purposes as set forth herein. The following reflects our commitment to you.

General information disclosure
We do not disclose information about your individual visits to www.ccubenchmark.com, or personal information that you provide, such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, etc., to any outside parties, except when we believe the law requires it. All information or material sent to the CCU team will be used with the purpose of gathering and analyzing the data in the strictest of confidentiality.

What this privacy policy covers
The CCU team does not collect any information from its website except information that is supplied voluntarily by the user as part of using this website. While you may visit any CCU webpage without identifying who you are or revealing personally identifiable information, should you voluntarily supply information, you are covered by our privacy policy regarding the use of any personally identifiable information (e.g. first and last names, email address, institution or affiliation) and said information is not released or used except as disclosed in this statement.
CCU team is not responsible for the privacy practices of non-CCU websites, services or organizations to which a CCU webpage may link, refer, or recommend, including any governmental or academic websites. When you link to another site, you are no longer on our site and are subject to the privacy policy of the new site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these other web sites before you supply any information to the new website.

Information gathered by the CCU survey
All information input is performed by registered users. During the registration, in the first part of the survey, the process asks for the first and last name of the individual, an email address, and other information. This information will only be used to return a benchmark report to you.

Sharing of information statement
The CCU survey only uses the personal information that you provide in order to record and support your activities within the CCU website, and to contact you with process advice and feedback. CCU survey does not sell, rent, or share any personal information that it collects on its webpages.
While CCU survey does not share information except as disclosed in this statement, it will disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the edicts of the law, or comply with legal processes served on you, the CCU team, or any personnel responsible for the maintenance of CCU information or the website.
It is the policy of the CCU team not to identify which materials are deposited by whom in our repositories.

General use of websites and services
CCU  webpages maintain raw log files of documents retrieved and data entered. Information extracted from these log files (e.g. the pages requested, the user's IP address, estimation of a user session, result sets from search queries) is processed in aggregate to help the CCU team gauge the effectiveness of its webpages, improve the performance and structure of its web pages, and for generating general use statistics.

Persistent identifiers
In order to complete the CCU survey, a user will not be required to have a persistent identifier (e.g. a login identifier.) No upfront registration is needed, the respondent simply provides some contact information during the survey to make it possible for the CCU research team to provide company specific advice.

IP numbers and domain names
IP numbers and domain names are included in the raw log files and are used in helping to compute aggregate statistics (e.g. as a basis for defining a user session). These IP numbers are not used to link CCU survey use to any other personally identifiable information that the CCU team may hold.
The CCU team may at its discretion publish articles, reports, or other works about the CCU process that may include information about use and users, but these articles, reports, or other works will not contain any information that could identify individuals who have provided information in the CCU Survey. All used information will be aggregated.

Sharing
The CCU team will use the provided data for aggregated research only. No data will be shared with third party companies or sponsors.

Confidential computer and tool
The survey is created and hosted on a confidential University of California computer. The data will only be handled by our primary research analyst. The survey tool in use is http://www.netq.co.uk/, which provides a security enabled survey environment that can only be accessed through username and password verification.

Use of www.ccubenchmark.com automatically demonstrates an understanding of these terms and implies that you understand and agree with them.
